Biography:

T.K.M. Sandeep is the Founder and CEO of Deaf Enabled Foundation (DEF).  He is a General Council Member of the Indian Sign Language Research Training Centre and Vice- President of National Association of the Deaf. He has been a key member of the team advocating the rights of the deaf community with policy makers in the Government of India.

Under his leadership, DEF has set up 10 Skill Development Training Centers which offer training and placement services to deaf youth. DEF also supports deaf education and has helped 250 students pursue their higher education. Sandeep is involved in project planning, leadership, human resource development and capacity building of the organization and currently leads a team of 84 deaf and 20 hearing staff members.

Sandeep has broad experience and expertise in deaf employment issues, deaf capability enhancement and employability in the current markets. DEF has successfully placed 2400 candidates in corporate entities over the past 9 years. 

He is a visionary Deaf entrepreneur and has set up the Talking Hands Restaurant in Hyderabad, supported by the Government. The restaurant is run and managed by a team of Deaf Managers under his supervision and guidance. The restaurant is a model of deaf entrepreneurship and provides an exciting template for other commercial ventures by the deaf.

Sandeep is deeply committed to the vision of enhanced employment and livelihood opportunities for the deaf community in India and is actively working towards that goal.
